NAEMT’s 10th Edition Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) is recognised around the world as the leading continuing education program for pre-hospital emergency trauma care. The mission of PHTLS is to promote excellence in trauma patient management by all providers involved in the delivery of pre-hospital care.
PHTLS courses improve the quality of trauma care and influences better patient outcomes and decreased mortality. The program is based on a philosophy stressing the treatment of multi-system trauma patients as a unique population with specific needs. PHTLS promotes critical thinking as the foundation for providing quality care. It is based on the belief that, given a good grounding of knowledge and key principles, EMS practitioners are capable of making reasoned decisions regarding patient care.
The course covers the following topics:
Physiology of life and death
Scene assessment
Patient assessment
Airway
Breathing, ventilation and oxygenation
Circulation, haemorrhage and shock
Head injuries
Special circumstances such as burns, pregnancy and extremes of age
Secondary survey
The course is delivered over a number of modalities to ensure robust delivery and consolidation of knowledge

PHTLS is the global gold standard in Pre-hospital trauma education and is taught in over 66 countries. PHTLS is appropriate for ECA/ECSWs, EMTs , Paramedics, Nurses, ACP’s, Doctors, and other pre-hospital providers.

Our PHTLS courses are taught by a Multi-Disciplinary faculty working in clinical roles at specialist and advanced levels across multiple settings.
Course practical scenarios will include outdoor realistic scenarios therefore suitable clothing and footwear must be worn additional PPE will be provided where necessary.
