The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification that has been specifically designed for those who would like to become a Mental Health First Aider in their workplace. This qualification raises learners’ awareness of mental health, develops an understanding on how to support, reassure and signpost fellow colleagues to professional support.
Throughout this 2-day course, learners will develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to actively promote positive mental health in the workplace by covering a range of topics, including: understanding mental health and its importance, awareness of their own wellbeing as a Mental Health First Aider, common mental health conditions, how to support those experiencing poor mental health at work with tools such as active listening and non-judgemental support.
This QA qualification is for people who wish to:
Raise their awareness of the signs and symptoms associated with mental health problems both related to the workplace and in the general public
Be able to actively listen and feel confident to have a conversation with individuals suffering potential mental ill-health
Be able to assist with policy writing and risk assessments for mental health in the workplace
Direct anyone with potential mental health problems to a reliable source of support both internally and externally

Understanding Mental Health, its importance, and association within the workplace
Roles and responsibilities in relation to Mental Health in the workplace
Mental Health conditions: Gain insight into common conditions such as stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, addictions, OCD and suicide.
Learning how to implement Mental Health first aid strategies in the workplace
Understand how employers can provide support to employees

Eligibility
This qualification is for those over the age of 18, who have an interest in mental health first aid and would like to raise their awareness of mental health within the work environment and be able to actively listen and guide/ support work colleagues. Although this qualification is ideal for those who are line managers or work in the human resources department, any member of staff should be able to attend this qualification.
